Cookie Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how TLS Live (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by The Landsite Online Ltd, uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) on tls-live.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage and session storage are similar tools built into your browser that let a website remember things on your device. We use all three, and this policy covers them together.
2. What we use and why
Essential — always on. These are required for TLS Live to work, or to keep it secure. They cannot be switched off, because the Platform would not function without them.
| What | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Login session | Keeps you signed in securely once you have an account | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
| Network & bot protection (Cloudflare) | Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it against attacks and automated abuse. It may set a short-lived cookie when that protection is engaged | Short-lived — set by Cloudflare only when needed |
| Security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) | Checks that a real person is creating an account, on the last step of the sign-up form | During sign-up only |
Functional — always on. Stored on your own device to make the Platform work smoothly. This information stays in your browser; it is not used to track you and it is not shared with anyone. Examples include:
| What | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Preferences | Remembers settings such as text size, app lock, and the address you last signed in with | Until you clear your browser data |
| Content caches | Loads your feed, messages, events and notifications faster on return visits | Until refreshed; most are cleared when you sign out |
| Notification device ID | Delivers push notifications to this particular device | Until you turn notifications off |
| Sign-up recovery | Saves a part-finished sign-up form so you do not lose it | Deleted when you close the tab |
| Your cookie choice | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we do not ask again, together with a random reference for that choice | Until you clear your browser data |
Analytics — only with your choice.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the Platform is used, so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are only set after you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.
| What | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (names beginning “_ga”) | Counts visits and shows us which pages are used. Used in aggregate — never to make decisions about you individually | Up to 2 years |
IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. Google also offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every site: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We keep a record of your choice. When you accept or reject analytics — on the banner or in Settings — we record the time, what you chose, which version of this policy was shown to you, your country, your browser type, a shortened form of your IP address and the random reference stored on your device (or your account, if you were signed in). We keep this so we can show that consent was properly asked for and given or refused. These records are kept for three years.
Advertising and marketing — none. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, we do not show ads, and we do not sell your data.
3. Your choices
- The banner — the first time you visit we ask on a banner. Nothing is set until you choose, and both answers are equally easy to give.
- Settings — signed-in members can change their analytics choice at any time under Settings → Privacy → Data & Cookies → Manage cookie preferences. This is available on every plan, free and paid.
- Your browser — you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of TLS Live working, for example staying signed in.
- Clearing your device — clearing your browser data removes everything described above, including your saved choice.
4. Changes to this policy
If we add or change the cookies we use, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.
