Chigwell Site Sold for Development

In September 2023 residential developer Ropery bought a 0.64-acre site opposite Chigwell Underground Station, in Epping Forest district, where Chigwell High Road meets Brook Mews. The seller, White Square Developments, was advised by Savills and GLPG.

The planned 28,330 sq ft scheme has nine one-bedroom and 26 two-bedroom flats, with 29 parking spaces and 26 cycle spaces. The ground floor commercial space is pre-let to Co-op Food.

Darren Arnold of Savills said the sale showed that well-designed consents in established locations still attract active developers despite market headwinds. Dean Leslie of GLPG said contracts were exchanged in person within a matter of hours after a thorough marketing process.
