How CGI Is Transforming the Property Industry

TLS Property Network20 October 2023

The Landsite wrote in October 2023 that computer-generated imagery now plays a central part in property marketing, spanning 3D and 2D visuals, virtual tours, photo editing, virtual staging, redrawn floor plans, renders and virtual renovations.

For off-plan schemes, where little exists to photograph, CGI lets buyers see finished interiors and exteriors. The article claimed good CGI can raise a property's asking price or value by 10 to 20 per cent, but warned that images are meant to create a first impression and must be accurate, since misleading visuals could damage a developer's reputation once the building is complete.

It also called virtual tours the post-pandemic standard. It cited figures that 75 per cent of buyer decision-making is influenced by them and that sellers offering them receive 87 per cent more property views, adding that buyers now expect a 3D tour and may look elsewhere without one.
