The UK's Largest Community of Construction Industry Ambassadors Returns to London Build Expo
London Build, billed as the UK's biggest construction show, was announced for 20 and 21 November 2024 at Olympia London, expanding to fill both the Grand and National Halls and running alongside the London Build Fire and Security Expo. Organisers expected more than 35,000 attendees, over 450 exhibitors and over 700 speakers across 12 CPD-accredited stages.
Each year the event works with a group of ambassadors who promote change in the built environment, focusing on women in construction, diversity, mental health and sustainability. For 2024 the programme added two new strands, one for Digital Construction Innovators and one covering fire safety.
Free networking sessions were scheduled for each community. On 20 November these were a mental health meetup co-hosted with Movember and a sustainability forum with the UK Green Building Council. On 21 November came a digital construction session with nima, a diversity networking event with Beyond Equality, and a networking event for women in construction organised with four partner groups: Women in BIM, WISH, NAWIC and Modern Women.
Ambassadors quoted in the announcement included Katie Barrett of J.McCann, Will Smith of Knightsbridge Development Corporation (in his third year), Eliot Godley of CBRE, Daisie Barnett of the CIOB and Lucy Wright of Beaumont Bailey, each describing the programme as a chance to build connections and push for a more inclusive, forward-looking industry. Companies named among past attendees included Mace, WSP, Balfour Beatty, AECOM, Wates, Multiplex and Arup.
